Apothecary Programme

About this course

The Circular Bioeconomy Research Group (CIRCBIO) at Munster Technological University (MTU) have launched ‘APOTHECARY’ our new programme for secondary level students. Participants engage in an interactive design sprint, working in teams to create new biobased product ranges for the personal care industry. Students learn about the EU Green Deal, the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals, and Irelands Climate Action Plac.

Using innovation sprint methodologies students explore the value of the bioeconomy and the European funded BBI JU projects such as INGREEN. BIObec and BIOSWITCH in which MTU are partner organisations. We focus on biobased and regenerative ingredients, technologies and packaging solutions and the myriad of career opportunities that the bioeconomy presents. Students will develop transversal skills such as teamwork, creativity, and communication with the support of engaging presentations and design thinking tools delivered by the CIRBIO team.
