Join Our Cross-Regional Bioeconomy Workshops Learning and Sharing Knowledge Across Europe: New Ideas and Best Practices in Focus

Are you interested in learning from bioeconomy experts across Europe? Do you want to gain insights into bio-based solutions, business models, and nutrient recycling practices while expanding your international network?

The EU MainstreamBIO Project invites you to participate in a series of cross-regional workshops that aim to share experiences in implementing bio-based solutions and highlight best practices from different regions.

These workshops will bring together participants from across Europe, offering opportunities for networking, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas.

8 November 2024

Location: Sofia, Bulgaria

Topic:
Carbon farming

More information about the workshop: Conducted and coordinated by Agricultural University of Plovdiv, hosted at the farm of Victor Asenova (2018 Young Farmer competition winner). Focus: carbon farming, carbon offsets, soil carbon sequestration, and bio-based technologies to reduce carbon footprint in greenhouse production.

12 November 2024

Location: Lelystad, The Netherlands

Topic: Utilization of biomasses from agriculture

More information about the workshop: Conducted and coordinated by Wageningen Food and Bio-Based Research at the Application Centre for Renewable Resources. Focus: low-value grass use for composting, biogas/fibre production, manure product valorisation, arable side streams, and algae cultivation. Includes visits to pilot and demonstration facilities.

Location: Örnsköldsvik, Sweden

Biorefining and forestry

More information about the workshop: Conducted and coordinated by PROCESSUM at RISE Processum facilities. Learning topics: Swedish forest biorefinery examples, forest biomass accessibility, and cluster exchange (Biorefine Cluster, Sweden).

Harvest and utilization of biomasses from peatlands

More information about the workshop: Conducted and coordinated by Food and BioCluster Denmark at Agromek 2024, the largest agricultural trade fair in Northern Europe. Focus: carbon tax opportunities, biomass utilization, biodiversity impacts, and live demonstrations and exhibitor visits.
