Adam Mulcahy

Adam Mulcahy is a Biorefinery Demonstration Plant Engineer with the CircBio Research Group at Munster Technological University (MTU).
 
He is responsible for the implementation and operation of the Rural BioReFarmeries green biorefinery demonstration facility at Farm Zero C, Cork. His work focuses on process optimisation, equipment management, and the conversion of grass biomass into high-value co-products, including protein concentrates, fibres, and bio-based materials.
 
A graduate in Agricultural Engineering from the Atlantic Technological University, Galway, Adam brings a strong background in bioenergy systems, anaerobic digestion, and process engineering. He previously gained hands-on experience in the UK, where he worked with anaerobic digestion plants and automation technologies.
 
At CircBio, Adam’s work contributes to developing sustainable bio-based technologies through practical engineering, process integration, and collaboration with academic, industrial, and European project partners.
