In addition, Carmen previously worked at Technological Corporation of Andalusia (CTA), before joining the CIRCBIO research group in 2022, where she worked for almost 4 years on European bioeconomy R&D projects (H2020, BBI-JU and ATLANTICO) such as URBIOFUTURE and BIO4AFRICA. She has worked with bio-based businesses and entrepreneurs as an innovation consultant in Spain.

Carmen holds a degree in Biology, specialising in Ecology and Botany, and an MSc in Environmental Biotechnology, specialising in Circular Economy for Agriculture, Biostimulants and Biofertilisers.
