David Williamson
IKC3 Industry Liaison
David is the Industry Liaison for Ireland’s Knowledge Centre for Carbon, Climate and Community Action (IKC3), a consortium led by MTU in collaboration with Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin working with national and EU partners including the European Institute of Innovation and Technology Climate-KIC, European HEIs, companies, enterprise clusters, local government, civic and social innovators.
David’s early career was as a Secondary School Teacher of Art, Design and Technology before moving into business advisory and Technology Transfer work. David holds a MA in Design Management and is a Registered Technology Transfer Professional (RTTP) at Advanced Level. David’s roles have included establishing Knowledge Transfer units within universities and has managed teams responsible for applied Research, Consultancy, Alumni, Philanthropy, Funding Applications, Business Networks and Conferences, Enterprise / Start-Up programmes and Executive Education.
David has held a number of senior roles including, Director of External Services at the University of Kent Business School; Business Advisor Team Manager at Business Link; Innovation Partnerships Manager for the Leeds City Region Universities consortium; Senior Business Development Manager at the University of Limerick and Director of Knowledge Transfer for the West Yorkshire Universities.
In his role at IKC3, David works direct with business and wider stakeholders in identifying the skills and knowledge needs that will be key for sustainability and the transition to Net Zero to inform IKC3 programme development. David also facilitates workshops with groups across a broad range of sector on a range of sustainability related topics and also co-ordinates the IKC3 sustainability network.
