Dr. Aon Waqas Awan

Dr. Aon Waqas Awan is a researcher in the Circular Bioeconomy Research Group. He did PhD in Applied Economics with specialization in Environment from University of Balearic Island, Spain and has extensive experience in academia and applied research projects across Europe. With expertise spanning climate change, energy systems, tourism economics, and infectious disease importation, he combines rigorous economic analysis with practical solutions to global challenges.
 
He has worked with leading institutions, including Technological University Dublin, University College Cork, University of Balearic Island, Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University, and Institute of Management Sciences contributing to high-impact projects such as Selkie (marine renewable energy commercialization), Leaf No Waste (food waste reduction through shelf-life extension technologies), Tourism Demand and Meteorological Issues (FU061), and Weather and Tourism Demand Modelling (ECO2013-44823-R project) etc.. His research is distinguished by its applied orientation, focusing on delivering evidence-based insights for sustainable development, energy transition, and policy innovation.
