Post doctoral researcher

Dr Joanna Przyborska
Dr Joanna Przyborska is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Circular Bioeconomy Research Group at the Centre for Applied Bioscience Research (CABR, formerly Shannon ABC), Munster Technological University. Joanna is working on the EU project Rural BioReFarmeries, focusing on the sustainable development and exploitation of green biorefinery feedstocks and products.
Joanna completed her M.Sc. in Molecular Biology at the Faculty of Biology, Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland. She obtained her PhD in Biological and Pharmaceutical Sciences from Munster Technological University, where her research focused on the biological properties of horse chestnut by-products.
Following her PhD, Joanna worked as a researcher at CABR for several years, gaining extensive expertise in biomass characterization. Throughout her scientific career, she has been involved in the extraction, purification, and structural elucidation of organic compounds from diverse biomass sources using advanced analytical platforms. She has also evaluated the biological properties of these compounds, particularly their antimicrobial, antioxidant, and prebiotic potential.
Alongside her research activities, Joanna has experience in science communication and education, having previously taught chemistry, biology, and science at the secondary level.
